HOMAGE TO THE MUSEE MECANIQUE

A multi media installation in collaboration with painter Susana Valdez, featured at Celebrate SF! exhibit at Mission Cultural Center SF, CA in 2010

The Musee Mecanique in San Francisco houses some of the oldest penny arcade machines in the U.S.A. It is a beautiful, funny, dark, spooky, and nostalgic shrine for a San Francisco long gone by. It provided the inspiration for our installation.

I created 3 sound sculptures utilizing materials and music box mechanisms I found in the streets and junkyards. I also created a soundscape mixing my own original music and sounds i recorded at the the Musee Mecanique.

Susana created three amazing paintings based on characters from the museum. We both stenciled & painted the room.

A little video featuring the entire exhibit, and a few shots of our installtion.
